Do you dream of turning your passion for gaming into a professional career? This is your epic first quest. Blizzard Entertainment, the creators of World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Diablo, is hiring for a unique, entry-level, remote role combining Game Testing (QA) and Community Moderation. No prior professional experience is required. We are looking for passionate, dedicated players (18+) to join our team and help us make our games and communities the best they can be.
Your Quest: Be a Champion for Our Players. This is a real job, not just playing games. You will be a crucial part of our development and community teams, with a dual mission:
- As a Game Tester (QA): You will be one of the first to play new builds of our upcoming games and content. Your mission is to hunt for bugs, glitches, and balance issues, and then clearly report your findings to our development teams to help make our games flawless.
- As a Community Moderator, you will be a guardian of our official forums and social channels. Your mission is to engage with our passionate player base, enforce our community code of conduct, and help create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for everyone.
Important Note on This Role: Community moderation requires reviewing a wide variety of player interactions and may expose you to “toxic” or inappropriate content. Emotional resilience is essential. We are deeply committed to your well-being and provide robust wellness and support resources.
Your Character Sheet: The Skills You’ll Need. We hire for passion and a player-first mindset. The key stats we’re looking for are:
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- A deep and genuine passion for video games and a strong understanding of online gaming communities.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to be objective and fair.
- The emotional resilience to handle community policy enforcement.
- A private, quiet home office space with a reliable, hardwired internet connection.
Your Epic Loot: Blizzard’s Pay & Legendary Perks. We believe in rewarding our team members for their passion and dedication:
- A great starting wage between $19.00 and $23.00 per hour.
- A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus a 401(k) with a company match.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
- A free copy of our latest games and an allowance for in-game items.
- The unparalleled opportunity to get your name in the credits of a major video game.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really just get paid to play video games all day?
While you will be playing games, it's a very structured and methodical job. As a tester, you will be following specific instructions to find and document bugs, not just playing for fun.
What is the difference between Game Testing and Community Moderation?
Game Testing (QA) is focused on the technical quality of the game itself—finding glitches, exploits, and bugs. Community Moderation is focused on the social health of our player community—enforcing our code of conduct in forums and chat. You will be trained in both.
Will I have to deal with toxic players?
Yes. A key part of the Community Moderator role is to identify and take action on player-reported content that violates our "Play Nice; Play Fair" value, which can include toxic behavior. Resilience is a critical skill.
What kind of training is provided if I have no experience?
We provide a comprehensive, multi-week, paid virtual training program led by our expert QA and Community leads. You will learn everything about our testing procedures, our community policies, and our internal software.
What are the main benefits and perks of this job?
The starting pay is excellent, between $19.00 and $23.00 per hour. The key perks that gamers love are the free games, the in-game currency allowance, and the chance to get your name in the credits.
Is this a permanent job with a set schedule?
Yes, this is a permanent, full-time position with a structured, set schedule. We are looking for dedicated individuals who want to start a long-term career in the gaming industry.
