Eustace, 43, was the early choice for a speedy dugout comeback—just a few weeks after he was sacked by Birmingham.

But word from his camp is that he will not be joining the Robins, and he now expects a rival gaffer to take the job. Bristol City terminated Nigel Pearson as manager last week. The former Leicester manager was fired following his team’s 2-0 loss against Cardiff. Pearson’s final defeat dropped Bristol City to 15th in the Championship table.
