Guy Boucher will not be back with the Maple Leafs.
Assistant coach Guy Boucher will not be on new Toronto Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube’s first staff. The club announced on Saturday that Boucher will not return for the 2024-25 season. Boucher, 52, was on coach Sheldon Keefe’s staff last season. The Maple Leafs completed the regular season with a 46-26-10 record, but Keefe was fired when the team lost to the Boston Bruins in the first round of the playoffs in seven games.
Boucher has previously coached two NHL teams, the Tampa Bay Lightning (2010-13) and the Ottawa Senators (2016-19).
Berube named former New York Islanders head coach Lane Lambert as associate coach of the Maple Leafs earlier this month.
