Personal terms are being discussed over Ross Barkley’s summer transfer to Aston Villa.
After a challenging few years, the 30-year-old had a fantastic comeback season with Luton Town last season, playing 32 games and contributing nine goals in the Premier League to put his career back on track.
Numerous Premier League teams were interested in Barkley once he returned to form, but rumors state that the Villans and the Hatters have agreed on a £5 million transfer fee, with personal terms to be discussed in July [Fabrizio Romano, 3 June]. Hutton anticipates the former Everton player to be content with a smaller role and still sign a deal, even if he doesn’t think the midfielder will be a consistent starter under Unai Emery at Villa Park.
